Prosperous, Just and Inclusive Societies within Planetary Limits
Welcome to the Club of Rome EU-Chapter

We are a European think tank of sustainable development experts

Since 2002, the Club of Rome EU-Chapter provides solutions and critical discussions on issues facing the triple planetary crisis of climate change, pollution and biodiversity loss, in Europe and where Europe spills over environmental damage.
This immense challenge is related to rising societal inequalities within and among countries as well as between generations.
We are convinced that this requires environmental, social and economic responses interrelated in a sustainable development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.
Unlike most think tanks, we are a membership organisation. Our views emerge from dialogues among our experts who’s experience is from science, governments, civil society and business.

We focus on the 5Ps of the Sustainable Development Goals: People, Planet, Prosperity, Partnerships, Peace
The 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as well as the name (Transforming our world) of the universal 2030 Agenda show the size of this scale and ambition.
The CoR-EU is also convinced that the implementation of the SDGs is urgent and that awareness concerning the efforts needed to implement this agenda can be raised by dialogue between all stakeholders in society.
The critical importance of these efforts for humanity now and for future generations requires scientific knowledge in many fields. But it also needs our determination to work in five simple intertwined strands starting with a P: People, Planet, Prosperity, Peace and Partnership.
